Monthly Outcomes report

Shows how your conversations ended, month by month: one row per outcome, one column per calendar month.

2 minute read

The Monthly Outcomes report shows how your conversations ended, month by month. Use it to see whether more seekers are reaching the outcomes you care about, for example a follow-up booked or a prayer offered.

Running the report

  1. Open Reports from the main menu. In the left-hand menu, under Reports, click Monthly Outcomes.
  2. Click the date range at the top of the page and choose your dates. The globe menu beside it sets the time zone, which starts on your ministry's own.
  3. Click Sources and choose the conversation sources to include. The number beside it shows how many are chosen.
  4. Optional: click Permission Sets to count only conversations that someone in those sets claimed. Leave it empty to include everyone.
  5. Use the switch to choose Created At or Closed At. Created At places a conversation on the day it started. Closed At places it on the day it closed, so conversations that are still open are not counted.
  6. Click Run Report on each card you want to see. A card does not load until you do, and the button stays gray until you change a filter.

Larger date ranges can take a little while. Reports that are still being built are listed under Queue at the bottom of the left-hand menu, which reads "All Reports Finished Loading" when none are waiting.

Monthly Conversations by Outcome

A line chart and a table. There is one row for each outcome your ministry currently uses and one column for each calendar month. Each cell is the number of conversations that ended with that outcome in that month.

Only conversations that have been given an outcome are counted. A conversation that is still open, or that ended without one, is in no row of this report.

What the measurements mean

TermWhat it means
OutcomeThe result a responder chooses when they close a conversation. The rows are your ministry's current outcomes; an outcome that has been retired no longer gets a row.
MonthA whole calendar month in the time zone you picked.
Created At / Closed AtWhich date puts a conversation in a month. Because outcomes are chosen when a conversation closes, Closed At usually matches how people think about this report. With Created At, recent months look low until their conversations are closed.

Things to know

  • Every column is a whole calendar month, even when your dates cover only part of the first or last month.
  • The numbers are counts of conversations, not percentages.
  • For the same figures day by day, use Daily Outcomes. For a pie chart of outcomes in one period, see Status and Outcome reports.

Most cards also carry two small icons beside the title. The star pins the card to your Dashboard. The download icon saves the card as a CSV file, or as XLSX if your download preference is set to XLSX.
